A brick is not only an image, but a container for all kind of documents, that will help you reuse the element of project again. So you probably need other images, drawings, maps, brochures, text… to describe an element accurately.
Which files type are allowed ?
There is a wide range of file type, you can use. It can be CAD files (autocad, revit…), 3D files (3D max, rhino…), Doc files (doc, xls….), images files, pdf….
For the moment, we offer a preview for only these 2 types :
- image files (jpg, png, tiff…)
- pdf files
We will offer soon some preview for more file type including drawing files (autocad, sketchup…).
Which use case for attached files ?
As an architect we suggest, you prepare a set of pdf files of all your drawings you want to share in a specific brick. Be selective about which part of the drawing is visible, to show if possible only the specific part represented in the brick main image.
This way your drawing files could be previewed in the more elegant way that any automatical drawing preview could produce. Pdf files are rasterized automatically in png, so it is also an easy way to transform your pdf in images without any adobe acrobat trickyness !
